Stage Festival and Gallery Team.

Hello,

Here is some basic information on the venues and some pictures to give you a better idea of the types of places your works will be displayed at. Please contact us if you require any further information.

The Root Cellar Gallery

The Root Cellar Gallery is a 1000+ square foot, rectangular, character space with 2 walls for hanging work that are roughly 40-50 ft long, plenty of floor space and offers a unique alternative to the standard white-walled gallery. The gallery is located at 2206a 4th St SW in Mission under Aida’s Mediterranean and The Garlic Clove and home to the offices of the Sled Island Festival.

The John Snow House

The John Snow House is literally a house. Work can be installed in the living room/ dining room/ main room, a kitchen, a studio, 2 bedrooms, bathrooms, unfinished basement, and outside. Furniture can be moved around and even removed to suit your needs. Please be aware that no holes can be put in the walls, as this house is aheritage site.

Stage Gallery

Stage gallery is a pop up space perfect for installation and performances. It is a space 4 feet by 8 feet wide build kind of like ….a stage! It has the option of having open or closed curtains, which would give the artist the benefit of a closed dark space if needed.

Here is a photo of the space:

There also other spaces available not mentioned here. So think big and do not let your art be effected by size or wall constrains!

Stage Festival is a student run festival exhibiting student work that is Interactive, performance, and Installation based. The Festival will run from Wednesday February 15th to Saturday February 18th at various venues in Calgary and in Banff.

Submissions are open to all students of ACAD, but work must be based in Installation, performance, and installation.
